NEW uSPEQ® EMPLOYEE CLIMATE SURVEY MEASURES EMPLOYEE SATISFACTION AND ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH

DATA COLLECTION AND REPORTING SOLUTION PART OF IMPROVED EMPLOYEE AND CONSUMER SATISFACTION CYCLE

Tucson, AZ -- October 23, 2007 -- It's a simple and repeating formula for organizational improvement: A satisfied, competent workforce provides more effective services, which lead to more satisfied consumers. Greater consumer satisfaction, in turn, contributes to higher employee morale.

How satisfied are your employees? Understanding employees' experiences and satisfaction with their jobs can provide important insight into an organization's health.

To objectively measure employee satisfaction and organizational well-being, CARF introduces the uSPEQ Employee Climate Survey, a turnkey data collection and reporting solution.

The uSPEQ (pronounced you speak) survey features a core set of universal questions for national and international benchmark comparisons, an optional set of standardized questions, and the capability to incorporate custom questions to fit the organization's unique data needs. Survey results are captured in a comprehensive report delivered approximately two to four weeks after the survey. The report identifies areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.

The survey covers areas of employee interest such as organizational culture and outlook, communication, leadership, teamwork, management support, staff support, work environment, staff development, compensation, recognition, and overall job satisfaction.

Because the anonymous and confidential uSPEQ survey is administered by an independent third party, employees can be candid, giving the organization an impartial, direct, and accurate measure of employee climate. The survey time has minimal impact on workplace productivity; most employees can complete the survey in fifteen minutes or less.

"Employers need to engage their employees in the day-to-day business. Employees can contribute valuable information to create and sustain organizational focus, alignment, and sustained success. Results from the uSPEQ Employee Climate Survey provide employers with insight regarding opportunities for improvement in their organizations," said Brian J. Boon, Ph.D., CARF president/CEO.

"High performing organizations focus on continuous improvement," said Di Shen, Ph.D., CARF chief research officer. "A major factor in performance improvement is obtaining valid, reliable input from key stakeholders. As an objective third party, uSPEQ offers organizations the ability to reliably capture their employees' opinions without employing a research staff. CARF has invested in uSPEQ's development, thus sparing employers from having to spend their resources to develop their own survey. Employers can direct valued resources to client service, benchmarking, and performance improvement."

CARF developed the uSPEQ Employee Climate Survey and Consumer Experience Survey, a complementary suite of services, in response to the field's desire to aspire to excellence in health and human services.
